After the recent videos by Yogscast Nilsey where he plays Smooth Operators, i’ve been gotten quite a bit of mails, tweets and comments about when Smooth Operators will be released on Steam (since it’s actually greenlit), and wether or not it will be released on Mac and/or Linux.

Will it be released on Steam?
- Yes.

When will it be released on Steam?
- I’m working on it right now, so hopefully in a week or two.

What is taking so long, the game has been greenlit for a couple of months?
- Day job, two kids, new house, takes time.

Will it be released for Mac/Linux?
- There is no plan for a Linux release, but it’s not impossible. I already have a Mac version running, but not in a releaseable state. I will work a bit on it as soon as the PC version is ready for publishing on Steam.

How will i get the Steam code (i bought it on Desura)?
- I don’t know yet. I’ll take care of it somehow though. Don’t worry. =)

Long time no update!

I made a small game in a couple of hours, that’s now available for free on App Store. It works on iPhone gen 4 and newer, iPad, and iPod generation 5 and newer.

As of yesterday, Smooth Operators: Call Center Chaos is indeed greenlit on Steam Greenlight!

So, when will Smooth Operators be released on Steam?
- I don’t know. I am currently spending all my time outside my dayjob renovating our new house. On top of this i’m committed to help Super Smith Bros porting their fantastic game Drawtopia to iOS, as well as prototyping my next game.
I know that this is probably not the info that you wanted to get when you came here, but don’t worry – Smooth will be released on Steam, it’s just a matter of time.

If you want an estimate on when, then i’d say January 2014.

To purchase a German version, you’ll have to visit a store who sells game on disc in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

Smooth Operators will be released in a boxed disc on retail shelves in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, through the publisher Crimson Cow.
It will be fully localized and translated into german.

Release date is set to Feb 28! =)

I know that Smooth Operators hasn’t even come out yet on all platforms it’s intended to. We still have Mac and iOS left, and the windows version isn’t out yet on two more distribution sites we have an agreement with.

But – we have been fiddling around with different ideas lately, and we’re set for what type of game it will be, and what the idea of the game is. We’re probably looking at a year in development, and possibly looking at another technology in building it.
As some of you are aware, Smooth Operators is made in XNA which holds a dead future as a framework. So we’re looking into maybe using Unity for our next game, which also will make porting to different platforms way easier!

Anyway, we will be publishing more info on this in a month or so, so keep an eye out for it! =)
