In the last weeks, this website has been getting traffic referred from different piracy sites, where Smooth Operators: IndieGala Edition has been made available for downloading.
The sites that’s been offering magnets and torrents to Smooth Operators has increased over the days, and by looking at the number of seeders, the number of downloads has increased as well.
I know that there is nothing i can do about it, so i might as well just go with it.
And when i say go with it, i don’t mean that i will seed it also, because i won’t.
What i mean is that while i’m hoping it won’t spread to any more sites, i also hope that the people that are downloading an illegal copy of the IndieGala Edition and like the game will perhaps puchase the official PC release version that’ll be released on Desura in January.

That is most likely the best attitude to have. While I purchased my copy from IndieGala, I do know of a few people who found it on a torrent site, however many of those said that the game blew them away and plan on purchasing the PC version
Keep up the fantastic work. Pirating may prove to help more than hurt *hopefully*
It sucks that people are ripping off your game but maybe it shows that some people have enough interest in it to want share it and maybe it will give you more purchases in the long run for future games, or even this one.
Regarding the PC version, do those of use who actually bought the Indie Gala (still?) get a copy of the full PC version too? I’m really looking forward to it. Love the game but really want to see it tweaked and a bit more fleshed out.
I’ve said that if the game gets greenlit, then you’ll get a steam code for it. The game is being initially released on Desura though, and i’m still not sure wether to update the IndieGala Edition to full version, or to give you guys Desura keys instead.
Just wondering. when you noticed the piracy links, did you see any change in the xbox version sales?
